Chapmans Peak Drive

Among the most spellbinding marine scenic routes in the world, Chapman's Peak Drive is carved from solid rock, closely hugging the 592m slopes of Chapman's Peak as it winds above the boulder-strewn coastline and cliffs that fall sheer to the sea. Panoramic views of Hout Bay, the Sentinel and Noordhoek beach may be enjoyed from numerous viewsites. Completed in 1922, this road was considered a feat of modern engineering.
