Originally known as Frasersburg Road, Leeu-Gamka is a convenient overnight stop in the N1. The village is situated near the confluence of two episodic rivers, the Gamka (Khoikhoi word for lion or deep) and the Leeu (Afrikaans for lion) from which it also takes it’s name.
