Located a short distance from Himeville and Underberg and half way up the Sani Pass lies Sani Valley Lodge, an exclusive accommodation, flyfishing and game lodge. It is a private game lodge in the Natal Southern Drakensberg and has some of the most sought after "wild trout" fishing in the entire Drakensberg region.
One can relax in luxury and the surrounds and fish, or tackle the berg on horseback, foot, mountainbike, quadbike and however else you may feel will make it a time worth remembering

At the foot of the famous Sani pass, overlooking a 100 hectare lake and surrounded by 700 hectares of unspoilt grasslands lies the exclusive Sani Valley Flyfishing and Game lodge. This lodge offers a unique blend of luxury, nature, wildlife and a range of activities that will keep you coming back time again!

Accommodation
This new luxury fully or semi-catering accommodation concept gives you a private and highly personal experience with unobtrusive lodge services. You are left to relax in your exclusive private home which is serviced daily. You may choose a cook to prepare your meals for you, or, if you wish, you can choose to cook your own meals using your chalet's modern kitchens.

All the lodges offer a spacious and open lounge/dining room/fully equipped kitchen. All rooms en-suite with views. With total privacy in mind, every lodge has been individually decorated. Luxury fabric crisp hand-embroidered, cotton linen, hand-painted lithographs and marble finishes are just a few of the details that compliment the beauty and the tranquility of the area.

There are 4 different types of accommodation to suite your specific needs. All units have panoramic mountain and lake views:
Rainbow lodge
Largest chalet available at Sani Valley. It has 3 luxurious en-suite bedrooms that can accommodate up to six people comfortable. This unit is truly a luxury home away from home.
Bushman lodge
Similar to Rainbow lodge with 2 bedrooms.
Lakeside lodge
Exquisitely decorated, double story stand-alone units. Ideal for honeymooners. Magnificent lake and mountain views from living area, bedroom & bathroom. Ideally sleeps 2 people but does have a small nook behind the main bedroom with a double stack bed which is suitable for young children.
Sunset units
Three beautifully decorated semi-detached one bedroom units. Each unit has magnificent lake and mountain views from lounges & bedrooms. There are two units downstairs and one unit upstairs. We do not allow babies or young children in these units due to them being semi detatched.

 

We have exclusive Honeymoon Lodges situated on the Lake, with Jacuzzis and “five star” finishes, they are the ideal honeymoon getaway. Sunsets from your own “bath with a view” and sunrises from the king size bed will be difficult to forget.  Privacy is paramount and tranquillity is a given. Spar treatments on your deck overlooking the Southern Drakensberg Escarpment watching your partner sip champagne in the Jacuzzi is a honeymoon moment very hard to beat!

To ensure you have the Honeymoon that you dream of, please complete the questionnaire that we supply you when you make a booking. That way we know what interests you and how we can assist you in making your Honeymoon unforgettable. We make honeymoon packages tailored to each individual couple.

On arrival you will receive a chilled bottle of Champagne and a box of irresistible chocolates to set the mood for your stay. We also like to include a small gift so that you don’t forget us.

A Picnic lunch out on the boat, or down near the waterfall away from everyone is a lovely experience. When you eventually make it back to your lodge a quiet Jacuzzi before dinner (set up in your Lodge, with candles) whilst the sun sets over the lake will be a memory forever etched on your mind.

For the more adventurous, a quad-bike ride in Lesotho or a game viewing ride on horseback or even a hike up to the Bushman Paintings should make you tired enough to enjoy a full body massage by our experienced masseurs on the deck over looking the lake.

The Weather at Sani Valley

An All Year Round Destination

South Africa is one of the countries where the number of sunshine hours is the highest in the world.Thanks to its high altitude, the Drakensberg region, where Sani Valley is located, enjoys great seasonal contrasts; it makes it wonderful to visit, at any time of the year.

Summer temperatures are warm, with short afternoon rain falls bringing welcome relief from the heat (Summer: December, January, February).
In Autumn, as the heat diminishes, the landscape slowly turns into a symphony of warm colours (Autumn: March, April, May).
Winters are dry and warm at daytime, but it gets considerably colder at night with temperatures often dropping well below zero (Winters: June, July, August).
Spring is a season of great contrasts with trees beginning to blossom and temperatures starting to rise. This is the time for the early growth of the bush and flush of green colours (Spring: September, October, November).

This exclusive getaway is easily accessible; a mere 2 hours drive from Durban and a 6 hour drive from Johannesburg. There is also a small aircraft landing strip nearby.
